Translation commentary on Jeremiah 11:9

There is revolt is more literally “a revolt is found.” The noun translated revolt is not used elsewhere in the book of Jeremiah; it is rendered “Treason” by Revised Standard Version and Good News Translation in 2Kgs 11.14, but in this passage it has the meaning of “conspiracy” or “rebellion.” Good News Translation restructures the direct speech as “The people of Judah and of Jerusalem are plotting against me.”
