SIL Translator’s Notes on Ezra 10:14

10:14a Let our leaders represent the whole assembly.

Let our (excl.) officials/rulers represent the whole community.
-or-
So allow/permit our leaders/chiefs to decide for all of us what we should do. (Translation for Translators)

10:14b Then let everyone in our towns who has married a foreign woman come at an appointed time,

Let everyone in the towns ⌊of Judah and Benjamin⌋ who has married a woman who is not a Jew come ⌊to Jerusalem⌋ at an appointed time.
-or-
Then on a set/decided day, every man who has taken a pagan woman as his wife and who does not live in Jerusalem will/must come ⌊here⌋.

10:14c together with the elders and judges of each town,

Town elders and judges should come with them.
-or-
He should come with an elder and judge of/from his town ⌊to meet with the leaders/chiefs and decide about this matter⌋.

10:14d until the fierce anger of our God in this matter is turned away from us.”

We must do this until the hot/burning anger of our (incl.) God turns from us.”
-or-
When we have finished with each man, God will remove/stop the great/terrible anger he has toward us because of what we have done.
