Translation commentary on Ezekiel 43:6

While the man was standing beside me: The man was the angelic guide who had been measuring the Temple with Ezekiel (see 40.3).

I heard one speaking to me out of the temple: The Hebrew text uses a general term for the speaker here; for example, New International Version renders this clause as “I heard someone speaking to me from inside the temple.” However, it is acceptable to say “I heard the LORD speak to me out of the Temple” (Good News Translation; similarly Contemporary English Version), because the words in verse 7 make it clear that God was speaking.
