Let this be enough, then, about the eating of sacrifices and the extreme tortures: Here the author simply says that he is ending the account that began with 2Macc 6.1. For rendering the Greek word for sacrifices as “the intestines of sacrificial animals” (Good News Bible), see the comments on 2Macc 6.7. In this context it refers to the meat of sacrificed pigs. Alternative models for this verse are:
• But that is enough [or, that is all I will say] about people being forced to eat meat from sacrificed pigs or being tortured to death.
• This is enough! I won’t say anything more about the Gentiles forcing our people to eat the meat of sacrificed pigs, nor about their torturing our people to death.
