The Hebrew and Greek that is translated as “messenger” in English is translated in Noongar as moort yana-waangki or “person walk-talk” (source: Warda-Kwabba Luke-Ang).
Translation commentary on 2 Maccabees 11:37
Therefore make haste and send some men, so that we may have your judgment: The Roman delegation to Antioch wants to know the Jewish position (your judgment) on the peace terms offered by the king as soon as possible. Therefore make haste may be rendered “Don’t delay!” Some men may be translated “news/information/word,” since the men will be carrying the news.
