He answered and said: Good News Bible says “The angel replied,” and Contemporary English Version has “Uriel replied.” Both these models make the identity of the speaker clear.

This is the meaning of the contest which every man who is born on earth shall wage: This sentence continues in the next verse, but in many languages it will be better to divide it into several sentences (so Good News Bible, Contemporary English Version). • The angel Uriel replied, “Here is the meaning of the struggle that every person who has ever lived on earth has had to endure.

• The angel replied, “Every person who has ever lived on earth has had to endure a conflict. Here is the meaning of that struggle.
