Who then ought to mourn the more, she who lost so great a multitude, or you who are grieving for one?: Revised Standard Version‘s footnote here is unnecessary; it does not appear in New Revised Standard Version. Good News Bible provides a helpful model for this verse, and so does Contemporary English Version, which has:

• So the earth is mourning the death of most of its children, while you are mourning the death of only one child. Who should be sadder?
