And they captured the fortified cities in the land of Egypt, and he plundered the land of Egypt: Antiochus and his army captured the Egyptian fortified cities of Pelusium and Memphis, and plundered the country. Fortified cities may be rendered “cities with high walls” (compare the comments on “strongholds” in verse 2). For plundered see the comments on verse 3.
