Translation commentary on 1 Chronicles 2:45

The father of Bethzur may be rendered “the founder of Bethzur” (so Revised English Bible). Bethzur was a town located on Judah’s southern border (see Josh 15.58). The Hebrew name Bethzur means “house of rock.”
