The sons of Reuel …: See the comments on verses 28 and 35 regarding the need to supply a verb in this type of structure. Reuel was the son of Esau and Basemath according to Gen 36.10.

The descendants of Zerah probably lived in the southern part of what is now Jordan about 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) east of Petra.
