The Greek in Mark 2:23 that is translated as “as they made their way his disciples began to pluck heads of grain” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) as sie rupften Halme aus, um einen Weg zu bahnen or “they plucked out stalks to make a path.”
