Translation commentary on John 12:45

As with whoever believes in me in verse 44, so whoever sees me is a participial construction in Greek (literally “the one seeing me”). The verb “to see” of this verse is parallel in force to the verb “to believe” in verse 44. As belief in Jesus is the same as belief in the Father, so seeing Jesus is the same as seeing the Father.
