My wrath and my anger were … kindled: Good News Translation and New Jerusalem Bible have taken kindled somewhat literally; see Good News Translation “set them on fire.” Traduction œcuménique de la Bible, on the other hand, takes the expression figuratively: “my fury and my anger … like a fire, laid waste the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem.”
