The anger of the LORD will not turn back: See 4.8.
Executed and accomplished represent another pair of words that have the same meaning. In Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch the first sentence of this verse is rendered “It [the Lord’s anger] will not cease to rage until it has accomplished what the Lord himself has in mind.” As Good News Translation makes clear, the intents of his mind means “everything he intends to do.”
Moreover, Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch correctly understands the latter days as the time of God’s judgment upon his people: “Then only when it is too late will you come to your senses and understand everything.” This can also be expressed as “Only at that time will this become clear to you.” This is probably more accurate than Good News Translation (“In days to come his people will understand this clearly”) and Bible en français courant (“One day you will understand everything.”).
