The man bowed his head and worshiped the LORD: The man is the servant, as in verses 21, 22. Revised Standard Version translates the Hebrew verb bowed as a bowing of the head. The word for bow used here is always followed by the verb translated worshiped. However, worshiped also translates a word meaning to bow down to the ground, to prostrate oneself, but when the LORD is mentioned the word has the sense of worship. In this context the servant is giving thanks to the LORD, and we may translate, for example, “bowed down and thanked the LORD,” or as Bible en français courant says, “The man thanked the Lord by bowing down on the ground.”
