And its windows, its vestibule, and its palm trees were of the same size as those of the gate which faced toward the east: For windows and palm trees, see verse 16; for the gate which faced toward the east, see Ezek 40.6. Hebrew Old Testament Text Project notes that there is some uncertainty about some of the Hebrew words here. Since all the Temple gatehouses are identical (see verses 6-17, 20-23, 24-27, 28-31, 32-34, 35-37), translators should make sure that the descriptions are the same, and refer to windows (plural) and a vestibule (singular) in each case.

And seven steps led up to it: Compare verse 6, which does not mention the number of steps leading up to the east gatehouse.

And its vestibule was on the inside means the porch of the north gateway was on the side facing the outer courtyard (so Good News Translation). On the inside (similarly Jerusalem Bible/New Jerusalem Bible, New American Bible) reflects the Septuagint. The Hebrew reads “in front of them [the steps]” (similarly New International Version, King James Version / New King James Version, Revised English Bible, New Jewish Publication Society’s Tanakh), but this reading is hard to understand since the porch and the steps were at opposite ends of each outer gatehouse. The same textual problem occurs in verse 26.
