Translation commentary on Acts 9:10

This verse opens a new scene in which the central figures are Ananias and the Lord. This particular Ananias appears only in this chapter (vv. 10, 12, 13, 17) and in 22.12.

A vision (see 7.31) indicates a supernatural experience in which a divine revelation is given to a person. The commentators compare this scene to the call of Samuel in 1 Samuel 3.1 ff.; the same words here I am appear in this narrative as in the Septuagint translation of 1 Samuel.
