While Revised Standard Version reflects the Hebrew by continuing the sentence in the previous verse, Good News Translation begins a new paragraph here (also New Century Version). Several others begin a new sentence (so Contemporary English Version, New Living Translation, Revised English Bible).

Some scholars think that the name Kedesh is not original here. They correct the text to read “Kishion” (Einheitsübersetzung, Klein) or “Qishon” (Knoppers) in agreement with the parallel text in Josh 21.28. Perhaps a scribe wrote Kedesh here under the influence of verse 76, which mentions “Kedesh in Galilee.”

Daberath: New Revised Standard Version gives the alternative spelling as “Dobrath” in a footnote, and Nouvelle version Segond révisée uses this alternative spelling in the text itself. Bible en français courant and Nouvelle Bible Segond have the spelling “Dabrath.” These differences in spelling reflect the same Hebrew text. The only other mention of this name is in Josh 19.12 and 21.28. The Hebrew name “Rabbith” in Josh 19.20 should probably also read “Daberath” in agreement with one manuscript of the Septuagint.
