Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobe-am, the Korahites (verse 6): Isshiah is the shorter more familiar form of this name, which most versions use. The spelling in the Masoretic Text here is actually “Isshiyahu” (so Traduction œcuménique de la Bible, La Bible Pléiade; similarly Osty-Trinquet). The five men listed in verse 6 as Korahites were from the “clan of Korah” (Good News Translation). But since this is a list of leaders of the tribe of Benjamin, this is not the Levitical clan of Korah.
