9:26a Meanwhile, Gaal son of Ebed came with his brothers and crossed into Shechem,

At that time Gaal the son of Ebed came to stay in Shechem town with his relatives.

One day Gaal son of Ebed and his extended family came to live in Shechem.

9:26b and the leaders of Shechem put their confidence in him.

They settled there and he won the trust of the people of the town.

The people of the town put their trust in him.
