8:7a “Very well,” Gideon replied,

Gideon replied, “Because you (plur.) said that,

8:7b “when the LORD has delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into my hand,

when Yahweh gives Zebah and Zalmunna to me,

Yahweh will help me and I will capture King Zebah and King Zalmunna.

8:7c I will tear your flesh with the thorns and briers of the wilderness!”

I will whip you with thorns from the desert and tear your skin.”

Then I will ⌊come back here and⌋ whip your bodies with thorns and sharp branches from the wilderness.”
