17:5a Now this man Micah had a shrine,

Micah had a place of worship,

This man Micah had a room for worship of the gods.

17:5b and he made an ephod and some household idols,

and he made a shirt and some statues of gods for his personal use.

He made some ⌊small⌋ statues of his family gods and he made a priest’s shirt

17:5c and ordained one of his sons as his priest.

Then he appointed one of his sons to serve as his priest.

for one of his sons ⌊to wear⌋ . He made that son be his sacrificer.
