15:14a When Samson arrived in Lehi, the Philistines came out shouting against him.

When Samson was arriving at Lehi, the Philistines shouted as they went out to meet him.

15:14b And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him.

Then the Spirit of Yahweh came on Samson with great power.

15:14c The ropes on his arms became like burnt flax,

The ropes that were on his arms became like stalks of flax that people burned with fire.

15:14d and the bonds broke loose from his hands.

They dropped off his hands.
