15:13a “No,” they answered,

They replied, “We swear.

They said to him, “We agree, ⌊we won’t kill you⌋ .

15:13b “we will not kill you,

We most certainly will not kill you.”

We ⌊promise/swear that we⌋ are not going to kill you.”

15:13c but we will tie you up securely and hand you over to them.”

We will only tie/bind you and give you to them.

We will tie you securely and turn you over to them.

15:13d So they bound him with two new ropes

So they tied him up using two new ropes.

Then the men of Judah tied Samson with two new ropes.

15:13e and led him up from the rock.

Then they led him up from the rock of Etam.

They brought him up from the Etam rock.
