1:32a So the Asherites lived among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land,

So the people of Asher and the people of Canaan who were in their land continued to live together.

The clan of Asher stayed in the same land with the people of Canaan

1:32b because they did not drive them out.

They could not force all the people of Canaan to leave their land.

because they were not able to send them away.
