2:3a For the vision awaits an appointed time;

2:3b it testifies of the end and does not lie.

It tells about the end and does not lie.

It speaks about ⌊what will happen in⌋ the end ⌊when the prophecy will come true⌋ . People can trust it.

2:3c Though it lingers, wait for it,

If it seems slow, wait for it. (Revised Standard Version)

It may seem ⌊to you (sing.) like⌋ a long time ⌊before it happens⌋ . You should not lose hope.

2:3d since it will surely come and will not delay.

It will surely happen, and it will not be late.
