8:9a And in that day, declares the Lord GOD,

On that day, I Lord Yahweh, say ⌊this ⌋ :

I, Yahweh the Lord say this: When the day ⌊of my judgment⌋ comes,

8:9b I will make the sun go down at noon,

I will make the sun go down when it should be high up.
-or-
I will make the sun disappear in the middle of the day.

8:9c and I will darken the earth in the daytime.

And ⌊I will⌋ cause the earth to become dark in the daytime.
-or-
And ⌊I will⌋ make the land dark during the daytime.

8:9b–c (combined)

I will make the sun set and the land will be dark at noon.
-or-
I will cause the sun to go down/away and bring darkness in the middle of the day.
