Section 4:1–3

God warned rich women that he will punish them

4:1a Hear this word, you cows of Bashan on Mount Samaria,

Listen (plur.) to this message ⌊from God⌋ , you (plur.) ⌊fat rich⌋ women who live on Samaria Hill/Mountain.
-or-
Pay (plur.) attention to these words, you (plur.) ⌊wealthy women⌋ from Mount Samaria. You (plur.) are like the ⌊fat⌋ cows of Bashan.
-or-
You (plur.) women of Mount Samaria, listen! You (plur.) are ⌊living in luxury⌋ like the ⌊well fed⌋ cows of Bashan.

4:1b you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy,

You (plur.) oppress/mistreat poor people and cause needy people to suffer.
-or-

⌊You (plur.) became rich because⌋ you (plur.) exploited those who are poor/weak and you (plur.) abused/hurt those who have nothing.
-or-
But you (plur.) oppress and mistreat poor people who need ⌊your (plur.) help⌋ .

4:1c who say to your husbands, “Bring us more to drink.”

You (plur.) ⌊rudely⌋ tell your (plur.) husbands, “Bring (sing.) us (excl.) some ⌊more⌋ wine to drink!”

Each of you (plur.) wives/women demand your (sing.) husband/master to serve you (sing.) ⌊delicious⌋ drinks.
