5:20a Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said,

5:20b “Look, my master has spared this Aramean, Naaman,
“My master ⌊Elisha⌋ was too nice/kind to this Naaman, this Aramean.

“My master should not have let this Naaman, this ⌊foreign⌋ Aramean/Syrian, go home like that.
-or-
that Elisha had been too generous to Naaman, a ⌊foreigner/enemy⌋ from Aram.
5:20c while not accepting what he brought.
He let him go home without accepting the things he had brought!

He should have accepted his gifts.
-or-
He wished that Elisha had taken his gifts.
5:20d As surely as the LORD lives,
As Yahweh lives

⌊I swear by⌋ the living Yahweh that

Gehazi/He swore that he would
5:20e I will run after him
I will chase/go after Naaman

I will hurry ⌊and meet up with⌋ Naaman

try to catch up with Naaman.
