25:24a And Gedaliah took an oath before them and their men, assuring them,

Gedaliah then swore to them and their soldiers,

25:24b “Do not be afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans.

“You need not fear (plur.) the Chaldean/Babylonian officials.

that the officers from Babylonian were not planning to harm them. (Translation for Translators)

25:24c Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon,

Find (plur.) a place to live in this land and obey the king of Babylon,

He said that they should live in the land ⌊quietly/peacefully⌋ and do what the king of Babylon wanted.

25:24d and it will be well with you.”

and your lives will be fine.”

Then they would be all right.
