23:29a At the end of Josiah’s reign,

While Josiah was ruling,

-or-

During the time when Josiah ruled ⌊Judah⌋ ,

23:29b Pharaoh Neco king of Egypt marched up to help the king of Assyria at the Euphrates River.

the king of Egypt, Pharaoh Necho, marched to the River Euphrates to help the king of Assyria ⌊in battle⌋ .

-or-

Pharaoh Necho, the ruler of Egypt, led his army to the Euphrates River to give support/aid to the king of Assyria.

23:29c King Josiah went out to confront him,

King Josiah went to meet and fight him,

-or-

Then King Josiah led out ⌊his army⌋ to oppose/resist him.

23:29d but Neco faced him and killed him at Megiddo.

but Necho fought and killed him at Megiddo.

-or-

However, Necho ⌊and the Egyptian army⌋ overpowered and killed him at Megiddo ⌊city⌋ .
