22:8a Then Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe,

⌊Later⌋ Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the writer/scribe,

The palace recorder Shaphan ⌊obeyed⌋ . ⌊Soon after⌋ the chief sacrificer Hilkiah ⌊came/went and⌋ told Shaphan that

22:8b “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD!”

“I have found ⌊God’s⌋ law book/scroll in the house of Yahweh.”

-or-

in the temple of Yahweh he had noticed/seen the book that contains the law ⌊of God⌋ .

22:8c And he gave it to Shaphan, who read it.

Then he gave the law book/scroll to Shaphan. After reading the book/scroll,

Then he gave the book to Shaphan, and Shaphan ⌊took it and⌋ read it.
