19:35a And that very night the angel of the LORD went out

That very night the angel of Yahweh went out

-or-

That same night Yahweh sent his angel

19:35b and struck down 185,000 men

and killed one hundred and eighty-five thousand men

-or-

and he killed 185,000 soldiers

19:35c in the camp of the Assyrians.

in the camp of the Assyrian ⌊army⌋ .

-or-

in the place where the Assyria army stayed.

19:35a-c (reordered)

That very night, Yahweh sent an angel to the camp of the Assyrians, and the angel killed one hundred and eighty-five (185) thousand men.

19:35d When the people got up the next morning,

The traditional King James Version text translated the Hebrew of 19:35d-e literally in a way that makes modern readers laugh: “and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead men.” You may be able to avoid this problem by indicating that the survivors (possibly the servants) saw that the soldiers were all dead.

When the ⌊survivors⌋ got up early the next morning,

-or-

When the ⌊others⌋ woke up in the morning

19:35e there were all the dead bodies!

the camp was full of dead bodies!

-or-

they saw dead bodies everywhere!
