19:28a Because your rage and arrogance against Me

Because you have raged against me

And so, ⌊Sennacherib,⌋ because of your angry talk

19:28b have reached My ears,

and because I have heard your rude boasting,

and your insolent speech,

19:28c I will put My hook in your nose and My bit in your mouth;

Assyrian conquerors led their captives and prisoners in this way.

I will put a hook through your nose and an iron bit/piece in your mouth.

I will ⌊restrain/lead you with⌋ a metal hook in your nose and metal in your mouth.

19:28d I will send you back the way you came.’

⌊In this way⌋ I will make you turn and go back by the same way that you came.’

I will force you to retreat ⌊to your own country disappointed⌋ .”
