17:22a The Israelites persisted in all the sins that Jeroboam had committed

The people of Israel then kept on practising all the sins of Jeroboam.

These people ⌊of the northern kingdom of Israel⌋ continued to imitate/copy all Jeroboam’s evil deeds/practices.

17:22b and did not turn away from them.

They did not turn away from these sins
