15:14a Then Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah to Samaria,

Then Menahem son of Gadi left the city of Tirzah and went to Samaria.

-or-

Gadi’s son Menahem traveled from Tirzah city to Samaria.

15:14b struck down and killed Shallum son of Jabesh,

There he hit/struck ⌊with a sword/weapon⌋ Shallum son of Jabesh. He killed Shallum

-or-

He attacked Shallum and killed him.

15:14c and reigned in his place.

and he became the next king himself.

Then he became king in his place.
