SIL Translator’s Notes on 2 Kings 12:20

12:20a And the servants of Joash rose up and formed a conspiracy

⌊Some time later⌋ his officials plotted against him

King Joash’s ⌊own⌋ men made secret plans to get rid of him.

12:20b and killed him at Beth-millo,

and then murdered him at Beth Millo,

-or-

They killed him at a place called House of Millo.

12:20c on the road down to Silla.

Silla is not mentioned anywhere else in the Old Testament. It is uncertain as to what this name refers.

on the road to ⌊an area called⌋ Silla.

It was on the road to ⌊a section of the town called⌋ Silla.
