12:17a At that time Hazael king of Aram marched up

In those days, Aram’s King Hazael marched out ⌊of his own city⌋ .

During this time Hazael, the king of ⌊the land of⌋ Aram/Syria, led his army to war.

12:17b and fought against Gath and captured it.

He attacked ⌊the city of Gath⌋ and defeated it.

He fought with ⌊the people of⌋ Gath and took control of their city.

12:17c Then he decided to attack Jerusalem.

After that he decided to make war against ⌊the city of⌋ Jerusalem.

Then he planned ⌊to fight⌋ ⌊the people of⌋ Jerusalem ⌊city⌋ .
