1:14a Behold, fire has come down from heaven

Look/Listen, fire came down from heaven

-or-

For fire/lightning came/fell from the sky

1:14b and consumed the first two captains of fifty, with all their men.

and burned/killed the first two captains/commanders and all their men.

and killed the two officers who came before me and all the soldiers ⌊who were with/under them⌋ .

1:14c But now may my life be precious in your sight.”

But now please respect/value my life!”

But please show mercy and spare me!”

But please allow me to live!”
