11:18a So all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal

All the people of the land of Israel went to the house of Baal god

-or-

Then the crowd went to the building where the ⌊false god⌋ Baal ⌊was worshiped/honored⌋

11:18b and tore it down.

and completely destroyed it.

-or-

and broke it down.

11:18c They smashed the altars and idols to pieces,

The people also broke into pieces the altars and statues ⌊of Baal⌋ ,

-or-

They destroyed the altars and Baal idols,

11:18d and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars.

and they put to death Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

-or-

and there by/at the altars they killed Mattan, who had served Baal by offering sacrifices.

11:18e And Jehoiada the priest posted guards for the house of the LORD.

Then Jehoiada the priest stationed guards at the temple of Yahweh.

-or-

Then Jehoiada the priest put guards at Yahweh’s house.
