35:25a Then Jeremiah lamented over Josiah,
Jeremiah wrote songs to mourn for Josiah.

The prophet Jeremiah wrote funeral songs to honor King Josiah.
35:25b and to this day all the choirs of men and women sing laments over Josiah.
Since that day, all the male and female singers sing those songs to mourn Josiah.

Even today, all the men and women who are singers sing these songs to remember King Josiah.
35:25c They established them as a statute for Israel,
That became a custom in Israel.

The people of Israel made these songs a tradition in their country.
35:25d and indeed they are written in the Book of Laments.
Those songs can be found in the collection of mourning songs.

They wrote them in the book called Funeral Songs.
