32:5a Then Hezekiah worked resolutely to rebuild all the broken sections of the wall and to raise up towers on it.

King Hezekiah ⌊also⌋ worked hard to repair the parts of the wall that had broken down, and he added towers on the wall.

⌊In addition to stopping up the waterways⌋ King Hezekiah ⌊had his workmen⌋ repair the broken sections of the city wall. They ⌊also⌋ put up watchtowers on the walls.

32:5b He also built an outer wall and reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David,

He built an outer wall and reinforced the stepped defences of the City of David.

He had them build a new wall outside the main wall. Then they strengthened the terraces that support the wall around the part of the city called the City of David.

32:5c and he produced an abundance of weapons and shields.
