26:21a So King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death.

King Uzziah continued to have the skin disease for the rest of his life.

26:21b He lived in isolation, leprous

He lived in an isolated house because he had leprosy,

Because he had leprosy he lived in his own house

26:21c and cut off from the house of the LORD,

and they would not let him enter the temple of Yahweh.

and he was not allowed to enter the house of Yahweh.

26:21d while his son Jotham had charge of the royal palace

His son Jotham managed the royal palace

His son who was called Jotham was in charge of the king’s house

26:21e to govern the people of the land.
