26:16a But when Uzziah grew powerful,

But after Uzziah became strong,

King Uzziah became very powerful.

26:16b his arrogance led to his own destruction.

his heart filled with pride that destroyed him.

He lifted himself up, and because of this God brought him down again.

26:16c He was unfaithful to the LORD his God,

He sinned against Yahweh his God.

26:16d for he entered the temple of the LORD

He went into the temple of Yahweh

26:16e to burn incense on the altar of incense.

and burned incense on the incense altar.
