25:14a When Amaziah returned from the slaughter of the Edomites,

After Amaziah had finished killing the Edom soldiers,

When King Amaziah returned ⌊to Jerusalem⌋ after killing many of Edom’s men

25:14b he brought back the gods of the Seirites,

he brought back their idols from the Seir people.

he brought back with him the statues of their gods.

25:14c set them up as his own gods,

He set them up ⌊to worship them⌋ as his own idols.

He treated them like his own gods,

25:14d bowed before them, and burned sacrifices to them.

He worshiped them and offered burned sacrifices to them.

and he bowed down to them and burned sacrifices in their honor.
