Section 22:10-12

Athaliah failed to kill Joash

22:10a When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead,

When Athaliah, the mother of Ahaziah learned that her son was dead,
-or-
As soon as Athaliah knew that her son, King Ahaziah, had died,

22:10c she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs of the house of Judah.

she gave orders to kill the whole royal family of the house of Judah.
-or-
she started to kill any relative who could possibly become king in Judah.
