20:9a ‘If disaster comes upon us—

‘If disaster comes upon us,

‘In the future we may meet evil things

20:9b whether sword or judgment, plague or famine—

whether the sword or punishment, or disease or hunger,

such as wars to punish us, or disease, or lack of food.

20:9c we will stand before this temple and before You,

we will stand here where you are.

Then we will stand in front of you

20:9d for Your Name is in this temple.

We will stand in front of this temple because your name is in this place.

at this house that is built to honor you.

20:9e We will cry out to You in our distress,

Then we will cry to you because we are suffering

We will ask you for your help when we are in trouble

20:9f and You will hear us and save us.’

and you will listen to us and save us.’
