12:7a When the LORD saw that they had humbled themselves,

When Yahweh saw that they had made themselves humble,
-or-
Yahweh saw that they admitted they were wrong.

12:7b the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying,

he spoke to Shemaiah saying:

So he gave a message to the prophet Shemaiah. He said,

12:7c “They have humbled themselves;

“Because they have made themselves humble
-or-
“Now they have admitted that they are wrong.

12:7d I will not destroy them,

I will not kill them.
-or-
Because of that I will not destroy them.

12:7e but will soon grant them deliverance.

Soon I will save them.
-or-
Instead I will soon deliver them ⌊from their enemy⌋.

12:7f My wrath will not be poured out on Jerusalem through Shishak.

I will not let Shishak destroy Jerusalem because of my anger.
-or-
Although I am angry with the people of Jerusalem, I will not use King Shishak to punish them.
