2:29a It was reported to King Solomon: “Joab has fled to the tent of the LORD and is now beside the altar.”
⌊They/Men⌋ told King Solomon that Joab had run to ⌊find refuge in⌋ Yahweh’s tent and that he was there, next to the altar.
-or-
King Solomon learned/heard that Joab had gone to find refuge/safety by the platform/place of sacrifice in Yahweh’s tent.
2:29b So Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada, saying, “Go, strike him down!”
Then Solomon gave the order/command to Jehoiada’s son Benaiah, “Go (sing) and kill him/Joab!”

So he sent Benaiah the son of Jehoida to kill him.
