18:29a Midday passed, and they kept on raving until the time of the evening sacrifice.
They kept acting like wild prophets all afternoon, until the time for the evening sacrifice.
-or-
They did not stop doing this from midday/noon until it was time to offer the ⌊regular/customary⌋ evening sacrifice.
18:29b But there was no response; no one answered, no one paid attention.
But ⌊they heard⌋ no sound/voice and no answer. No one was listening ⌊to them⌋.
-or-
But ⌊still⌋ there was no sound/voice in reply. No one heard ⌊their prayers⌋.
18:29a-b (reordered)
All afternoon they were wildly calling out ⌊to Baal⌋. But there was no voice, no answer, no one paying attention. Finally the time/hour came for the evening sacrifice.
